I BELIEVE IN PINK...............

Hello Friends. I am guilty of Blog neglect! Time slips away when a busy life enters the picture. Here's an update.... I have been very happily working many more hours these days at job I absolutely LOVE. (We just celebrated an anniversary last weekend & it was such fun!)
I have been out junkin' with a dear friend, working on projects for my booth(s) & have started in on Spring cleaning! Even though it still feels like January outside, I am encouraged by the sweet little pink Cherry Blossoms & happy little Daffodils that have surfaced.

Well, about my Post title... I purchased this fabulous sign yesterday at the best place around; Any guesses? This sign really hit home with me. So fun, so positive. It made me smile. Though, I do have to admit, it's the only black item in my house amongst all of my white & pink. That's just fine. Maybe this item will lead to more masculine tones. HA!
Have a wonderful Spring everyone! It officially starts tomorrow! Hugs, Raylene

Love is All Around Us.....

Valentine's Day to me is a holiday that celebrates love. What is it to you? What do you love most about Valentine's Day? Could it be the chocolate....? The roses....? I'd love to hear from you!
Please join me for "Show and Tell Friday" over at the beautiful My Romantic Home blog!! Don't miss out on this creative fun!

I hope you enjoy my latest inspiration. I found these adorable sets of "angel" wings a few months ago at Camas Antiques and I just had to have them. I didn't know what I would do with them at the time, but these little beauties just had to come home with me. I started out by making these sweet little millinery flower cones. I liked them well enough, but they still needed a little something..... once I added the wings, then the cherub, I LOVED 'EM! What do you think? Don't you just love music sheets? It has such a simple elegance~kinda like a string of pearls with jeans~. I'm in love with little frames. I have been on the hunt for them for years. The scrolly ones are my favs. I remove the little glass squares from the frames to make 3-D art. I came up with a few Valentine themes this go 'round. The bottom photo is of a Valentine garland with pink glittered letters. Simple elegance & some sparkle. I'll be sprucing my booth in Camas tomorrow and these goodies will be on display. I wonder if they will find their way into anyone's heart this Valentine's Day?
Blessings to all, Raylene

Some of my Favorite Things.........

It has been way too long since my last post......Ooops!  With the holiday excitement over, I've been a little blue. It didn't help becoming ill just after Christmas.....all better now! My creative juices are flowing again thank goodness. There will be some creations in my next post, not quite ready now. I have wanted to share some pics from around my house of.... you guessed it, some of my Favorite Things. The first pic is a little chalkware couple I absolutely adore & will take to my grave. Lol!! Next are photos of my beloved Blue Bird China dishes & a few other Blue Bird goodies. The next three photos are of collections of various trinkets that I have not been able to resist during my outings searching for those special yesteryear leftovers. My whole house is filled with sweet bits of the past. I feel so fortunate to have these treasures in my everyday life here in the present.
Blessings, Raylene

Vintage Pink Christmas

As I bring in boxes from the garage, I am giddy with excitement! I just love opening those boxes of merriment that are tucked away for 11 long months. My collection of vintage pink Christmas continues to grow and I feel like a little girl, full of anticipation as I peek into each carefully tissue wrapped treasure. I wanted to share some photos, but I am only able to share one at the moment. I have a busy day ahead of me with a few Christmas parties to go to. So FUN! I will post more pics later on.............
Hope that your holiday season is a very special one!
Don't ya just love these glittered Tiaras???

Everything is better with GLITTER on top.....

Well, I have to say that my excitement for the holidays is overflowing! I have been having SO much fun in Camas! JoAnn and I, together decorated the smaller display window at camas antiques as well as the silver & white area. The Holiday Open  House was a huge hit!! There are many wonderful items available for gifts & decorating. Many vintage Christmas goodies as well! Here are some photos of goodies I have been creating this week. I will be bringing them into the store on Saturday 11/20.

Along with these creations, I have many vintage Christmas items as well. I just love to incorporate vintage touches into my handmade items. That touch of yesteryear makes it all the more special to me. So, make the day of it. Grab some friends, head to Camas, stroll 4th Avenue, sip some cocoa or coffee, and enjoy a day shopping! Hugs to all!

For the LOVE of Silver

I have 2 spaces at Camas Antiques now, yay!! Thank you JoAnn! My first love is pink so one space is my signature girly look with many sweet items like: vintage clothes, purses, gloves, pink & silver tiaras...etc. At the advice of my friend Sue of bella I decided to go with one neutral look in my large space instead of trying to have 2 looks in one. Thank you Sue!! I'm having so much fun! Here are some pics. (Sorry about date on photos. I can't figure out how to remove it from my camera.) Arghhh!

My newest love is silver. As much as I love patina, I just had to polish this silver water pitcher. It is so pretty! A grape motif wraps the pitcher & shows off better against the shiny silver. Once I got started polishing my silver stash, I couldn't stop!  I spent several hours last Thursday giving my Camas Antique's booth a fresh Fall look & I added the silver. Many of my items are 15% off thru 10/31.

Love this chippy cabinet door!!
I'd like to add a moment of personal reflection.......
Some may have wondered how my transition has been from store owner to.....where I am now. I have to say that at times I miss my store, but I don't have any regrets on my decision to move on. JoAnn, the owner of Camas Antiques has helped me more than she may know. She has welcomed me into her beautiful store with open arms and in doing so, this has allowed me to continue to do what I love. For those of you who need a connection to the past like you need air to breathe, I think you get what I mean. As a girl with an old soul, I am grateful to her for this.

One of My Favorite Finds................

I found this adorable vintage Celluloid Kewpie Doll the other day during one of my treasure hunting adventures. She is just the sweetest thing! I'm guessing she is to be from the 30's. Her dress is 4 layers of crepe which has this wonderful aged creamy color. A cluster of millinery flowers is on her front & has cascading crepe ribbons with little millinery posies attached at the ends. I just love little Kewpies, especially the celluloid type.
